25 gal IM lagoon sump and skimmer issues

Hello there !
Im new to having a smaller tank, and a sump. I picked up a skimmer tunze9001 which doesnt fit . Right now im just cycling with live rock . After about 12 hours my sump drains and my pump will start caving. Im assuming this is just rate of evaporation ? I didnt think it was going to need a top up every 13hrs. Any advice would be great . Also if anyone has any information on a good skimmer i heard the ghost will fit ? Any suggestion ? Tank has been up for 4 days .

I can't comment on a skimmer for it, but that does sound right for evaporation. It is a small return area and even a small amount of evaporation makes a big difference. I use the AutoAqua Smart ATO Nano and it works great.

I have the same tank and ordered a ATO cause I have the same issue. My water evaporates really quick and I'm always having to fill it up about every other day or less. Have yet to set up ATO.

Thanks guys !!! How about for your water changes what do u find works best ? I had a 55gal before and i was doing about 10 gals every 2 weeks

I do less than 5 Gal a week or every two weeks. So far so good.

I have a 20gal IM. Get the smart micro ato, it's made life so much easier for me! Parameters can swing quickly with that much evaporation. I also have the ghost skimmer and do 3 gal a week water changes.
