25-gallon Lagoon Mixed reef Build

Yes you never know about that game last game I attended was the game after bonfire fell. I graduated that December as well.
We are old. I remember that day and game like it was yesterday. Sadness for sure.

Gig 'em Aggie pal.

New additions from yesterday coral banded shrimp named Bubba Gump and a chalice

Geez I hate dinos. When they come back they come back with a vengence. Started dosing silicates and they are SCA again just like last time. Might be a coincidence but I got my PO4 and NO3 where I wanted it with chaeto and so I thought dosing Bacto Balance would help, but my nutrients bottomed out and bam 2 days later dinos start forming. not more crap just food for the fish and corals. Been feeding 4 times a day with pellets and once in the evening with frozen mysis. Once a week with coral frenzy spot feeding the corals. Got pods and phyto on the way and an ICP test ordered as well.

Update on the Dino’s I see way more diatoms than Dino’s already and of course cyano has reared its ugly head as well. Did a 3g water change today scrubbed the glass with two filter socks in to catch the crud and vacuumed the sand bed. Going to continue dosing silicates until I see zero on scope slide and then continue for 2-3 weeks after that.

Want to thank @Txoutlaw for the frags today as well one of these days I will have something you want and I can return the favor. Need to figure out a way to get a frag swap going. Down here in the RGV.

Finally got Alk dialed in been steady at 8.6dkh for the last three days. Now my Ca is being used up a little faster with the increased Alk. Dino’s are starting to fade away with silicate dosing. PO4 is around .15 with NO3 at 25. If Ca is going to continue to be used a little faster than once a week dosing them I will have to get another dosing pump :face-with-rolling-eyes: wife will be happy about that hahahaha.

Salinity 35ppt
Alk 8.6
Ca 400 dosed to 420
PO4 .15
NO3 25
pH 7.9-8.0

Thinking about removing my Hygger mini and adding. 18w Hygger Gyre for added flow all around the tank.
The only reason I haven't is because of the nem (worst purchase ever). Probably I'd go for the 12 watt and keep one of my minis in.

Broke down and ordered the 18w with the hopes of removing the mini or placing it low in the rear of the tank. We will see what happens. Shoot g for a more Montipora species tank for the most part.

I've learned, when I get everything right, montipora is like a weed. Give it all tons of space. Where my acros are just now taking off, montis are crowding them already.

Just the other day I saw that something is nibbling at my seasons greetings. I'm considering letting whatever it is that likes to eat montipora, eat all the montipora it wants.

I just have a red cap that I need to mount and a digitata at the moment. I still have a ton of room but I know that will change quickly.

Cruise around this top down and see what I mean. Nothing in there (except they cyphestrea and anacro) were more than an inch or two and almost everything went in within a month of each other.

I've been trying to square with the fact that I'm about to have a montipora dominant reef.

Yes you are

Haven’t updated in a while been hectic the last month or so. This morning I noticed my ATO took a poo sometime yesterday/last night so I bit the bullet and ordered a Tunze 3152 this morning. Other than that and some GHA things seem to be going decently. With dosing I’m able to keep NO3 and 10ppm and PO4 at 0.1ppm. Will get some pictures this afternoon and some more solid numbers as Inhave not checked since Sunday morning.
