Bimini Sun reflector, Hamilton 14,000k DE bulb, Hamilton adjustable 250w electronic ballast. Purchased new from BRS December of last year. Bulb has 4 months use on it. Like new condition.

I mounted an aluminum standoff so that I could hang the reflector from a tank clamp style mount. Have the mount, it was originally from an Aquaticlife Halo, works fine with this light. Mount included, if you want it.

$125. If you want me to ship it, you pay shipping. I won't be lowering the price any further, if I can't get that for it, I'll mount it over my workbench :)

Yup. I'd about decided to hang the thing over my workbench, but yeah, if you want it, it's available.

Shipping is somewhat of a problem... I don't do shipping often. I sold and shipped a skimmer a few weeks back, and it cost me way more than I was estimating to do so. If you're willing to pay actual shipping, I can ship.

I'm new to MH...Is DE difficult to remove or insert for newbie?

I need another one for my 75g....

This includes ballast too I think, though no pic[emoji2]

Yes, it's $129 brand new... without a bulb or a ballast. The ballast is $135, and the bulb is $51

Sorry, I didn't get a pic of the ballast. It's a Hamilton 250w electronic adjustable, like new... it's blue, if that matters :) BRS doesn't sell them anymore, not sure why, they're selling luxcore instead, but that wasn't true a few months ago.

This includes reflector, bulb, and ballast, and, if you want it, a tank clamp mount originally intended for an Aquaticlife Halo that I was using with this reflector. If you don't want it, fine, I may have use for it in the future.

Changing out a DE bulb is easy. Slides right out.

Hm. I've always preferred them. I've had problems unscrewing a mogal base after it was in place for a year or so, in the environment our lights need to run in. One major advantage, they're much more compact, and the arc is dead center in the bulb, so it is always positioned properly in the reflector. SE bulbs differ a good deal by manufacturer. A longer bulb, or one with the element in a different position, can push it out of the center of your reflector, making it less efficient.

The older style DE bulbs had spring loaded terminals that could be a little odd, until you get used to them. The newer ones with the ceramic rail that slides in and out are real easy.

Sorry, I've decided not to sell. Light is currently hanging over my workbench, and likely to stay there.

I’m local if you decide to let this go let me know.

Hey I know this is a old thread but why were you trying to sell your Bimini MH? I’m thinking of buying one.
Any feed back would be great.

Bought it for a 60g cube, dedicated SPS tank. I crashed that tank... nothing to do with the light, but I had a total wipeout. I did not rebuild... but sold the tank off and built a larger one. New tank is lit by T5's.

I didn't sell it... it's mounted over my work bench :)

Still works great.

A 250w Halide will grown ANYTHING. Awesome choice, with 2 negatives. Heat, and power consumption. Halides put off a tremendous amount of heat, and consume power rapidly. Aside from those two problems, it's an ideal reef light.

T5's are dead flat in compairison, halides look much better. LED's have been trying to duplicate Halides without the heat and power problems... they're close, at the high end, but IMHO, not quite there yet. And the prices! Wow.

One day, this will all be moot. Someone will release an LED light that duplicates the output of a Halide, without the heat and power consumption problems, for a reasonable price. I have no doubt it'll happen... but it hasn't happened yet. Let's hope it comes soon.

Does anyone have a Bimini Sun that they would like to sell?
