250W Radium Bulb Users.....

Is this a good bulb to use in an LPS / Chalice dominated tank? I am upgrading my tank / lighting and am looking for a good bulb for color and decent growth. Thanks.

one of the best IMO. for the best color and life run it on a german made pulse start ballast running on 220(this is how they were designed to run). next choice after that is a electronic ballast however they burn to blue for my taste and the life is a bit shorter.
I have been running these bulbs for nealry 10 years and I have yet to find a bulb that i like more. i am just glad they are now becoming main stream so they are alot easier to get

Gets no better than Radiums. For ballasts try the Galaxys and the new icecaps.

i am not a fan of the electronics with the radium BUT with that said we have a store in our area that runs all galaxy ballast on 400 radiums and it is an amazing color. im sure you have seem it WWC (coral corral)

the galaxy is also a very high quality ballast. it would be a better choice IMO.
only second to a german pulse start on 220.

I just got a 250w ice cap and radium bulb I will be setting up this weekend I will post a pic once I get it up it.
