I'm running 250w Radiums on Galaxy ballasts, and I was wondering what a good supplement would be, something to really make the colors pop. I was thinking 2 80w Giesemann Pure Actininc 03 bulbs which peak at 420nm. Any thoughts?

i like the actinic + by geisemann or the blue plus by ATI. both are a mixture of 460 & 420 actinic. an ATI procolor will really bring out the reds in a tank as will a KZ fiji purple bulb.

I added a kz figi purple, 2 giessmann aquablue and 1 geissmann actinic plus.... the acintic plus is the only one i am remotly impressed with... i have them wired on a icecap 660
p.s. this is to supplement my radium 250 on icecap ballast
my choices were more to increase the par in my 40gallon than to really pop colors... but the par increase was nominal, wish i had gone all pure actinic and actinic plus

Yeah I wasn't going to use the fiji purple. I just ordered some powerbrites, so if I decide I still want to add some T5s it'll probably be the G-man Pure Actinic.
i am redoing the lighting over my main tank and am going to run 2 x 400w radium/galaxy plus 2 x 6ft vho super acts and 2 x 6ft vho 454 acts.

The pure actinics in my opinon are aweful. I bought one to try out some time back and it has no color pop at all imo. The ATI blue + bulbs are the way to go. I have rn the dual radiums over my old 90g and it worked well. And actinic bulb you put on there will hardly even be noticeable over the radiums. If you are looking for dusk dawn effect. One UVL super actinic and a ATI blue plus is nice. If its just to supplement the radiums you will want to go with two ati blue +. I have used all the bulbs mentioned above as well. The Fiji purple isnt a bad bulb but its a pretty strong lavender color. I for sure would not a get a ATI procolor. it is a red bulb and actually will bring out your browns as well. The giesmann bulbs are not bad but just lack the little extra punch the ati bulbs have.(PAR)
