Congrats, time to get that thing wet! Cant wait to see what you do.

Holding water!!!!!!! i boiled a big batch of rock tonight, tomorrow will be more boiling/scrubbing rocks and cleaning sand. I have the next few days off so ill be posting some scaping photos soon!!! I want to get this baby filled with good saltwater and cycling ASAP! I am really hoping to be able to start adding corals around new years, ill probably chuck a few sails and maybe a shtimp in there in a few weeks just to get a little bioload in the system. Exciting stuff ahead!!

Looks great! Um do you mean literally boiling rock?
Yes some of my rock im going to use is dry some is rock from my old tank, i wanted to make sure there no live algea or any thing really. I got a big steel pot and i put it on my grill outside. I know there were a few zoas and a bit of chalace and lepto bits on some of the rock so im not boiling it inside dont worry!

Thank goodness!

The water is a little cloudy because the skimmer is putting out alot of bubbles from its "break in cycle" i will post some clearer photos in a day or two but my scape is all put together! cycling will officially start tomorrow because the sand and rock were cleaned/steralized/dry and the water is mixed rodi. My friend who is holding my fish and corals is bringing me a scoop of sandbed and rubble for a bacteria seed. Its all coming together nicely!!!

OP, I have been dealing with the same situation of seeding a new tank with seed/live rock from old tank... how did you go about the cycle? Used a table shrimp after seeding it or pure ammonia? I'm debating if I should add a fish after I added my live rock from the old tank to get a "mini" cycle going and then transfer the rest...

Also, amazing work with the cabinet! I never had the guts to build one myself, but seeing yours gave me a little more confidence!

I startes with totally sterile rock, sand, and water i dosed with an on the shelf nitrifying bacteria from my lfs. I also got a handful of rubble from a display tank of a good friend of mine who has some amazing tanks and corals. Then i threw in a frozen cube of misiss shrimp. (Secert family recipe dont tell anyone)

Looks awesome. Nice job on the scape. Love the Octopus motif.
