265 actual gallons?

I just filled up my 265 gallon and I measured the amount of gallons it took to fill it up and it only took 195 gallons to fill it up. Am I missing something?

Yes.

you didn’t account for the volume 3/4” glass takes up (more than you think) plus your substrate and rocks

my 325 gallon system runs right around 260 real volume

Just take measurements of inside the glass dimensions and height of waterline and use the calculator on RC

Id say a good rule of thumb is take 10-15% of the tank size for ball park of actual gallons

I figure you should have at least 210-230 gallons of actual water in the tank. Inside measurements will help with actual measurements

I believe your count has to be wrong since if you measured correctly that will be amount of water in your tank

I would do fifteen gallons at a time and wrote it down after every 15 gallons. I guess I could have forgot to write one down
