Great idea to get the more peaceful fish first. I would get two regals, two blueface, two majestic, 2 asfur and two emperator. I would definitely add more butterflies like semilavartus.

Personally not a fan of them. They get too big.

If I remember correctly, Emperors and Blueface Angels get pretty large compared to the Regal, Majestic and some of the others.
Not sure about the Asfur but do they often get large as well?

If it were left to me I’d do a pair of Majestics and a pair of Regals. And get some dwarfs.

Emps, blueface and majestic get large…+12”
Asfur is basically a French angel except it’s blue, black and yellow

I’m not entirely sure about the Majestic reaching 12”, as books by Randall, Allen, Rudie Kuiter as well as WetWebMedia all list the max size as 10”.

Have you considered Negative Space Aquascaping (NSA)? These are 150s, with a lot of swim room. (Plus I wouldn’t go by ‘in the wild’ max sizes; maybe 80% of that, tops.) Anyway, I’m just spitballing ideas your way. Again, very jealous of your 265.

IMO, NSA’s are pointless - Theres barely any room for smaller fish like wrasse to hide.
I don’t recommend a Dragon wrasse with other small/delicate fish such as CBBs because they’re destructive ********

Thanks for everyone's replies! The French and queen angels were definitely on my radar along with a regal angel. I already have an aquascape done, but as it's finished cycling, I've been trying to figure out what other fish i want in there. Here's the scape right now.

I love the cave look and seeing fish swim and interact with the rock work. But i also made sure there was a lot of open swimming space.

Ps, the fish in the tank are mollies i liked.

Zebrasoma Desjardini - May be an issue with the Gem however, get a third Zebrasoma and add them all in at the same time it should be alright
