28 gallons of sand

hey all - thought I would share my 28 gallon nano here. it has been running for over 5 years now, but I redid it about a year and a half ago to convert the tank for garden eels.
here are some progression shots

2 of the eels I have had for a year and a half, other one I got recently, along with a few others that didnt make it ;(


livestock:
blue stripe pipefish
3x spotted garden eel
orange spotted goby
tiger pistol shrimp
peppermint shrimp

coral:
3x green toadstool
GSP
photosynthetic gorgonians
green nepthea
liams clove polyps
green clove polyps
pulsing xenia
jawbreaker mushroom
purple plume gorgonian

filtration:
4 sponges in the overflow area. I turned off my skimmer a few months ago and all softies are doing great.
my tiger shrimp also made a cool little burrow right up against the entire side glass pane.

you can see him towards the right side ish


only a few rocks in the tank, sandbed is 4-5 inches. tank gets fed once a day.

Yeah - I think the Pajama version is a little more interesting than the regular Bangaii.

thanks, they are very cool to watch especially because the pistol shrimp made the burrow right up against the glass

garden eels are pretty easy to keep and super cool. The filefish is an orange spot filefish, they only eat acropora in the wild and are hard to get to eat in captivity. Mine eats, but is still skinny after not eating for 2 weeks at the start of me trying to get him to eat.

Also i hear the eels get up to 2 feet, is that true? If so how are you gonna deal with that in such i small tank

Mine are probably in between 12-16 inches. the sand bed is 4-6 inches, once they hit the bottom they just go horizintally along the bottom
