I have like 20 hermits
Almost all my snails died( still plenty of algea as im a heavy feeder, no hermits killing them as I found them belly up not eaten) Saw 2 nassarious snails tonight
Was using fluval clearmax and read it leaches iron think that's what caused my snail death, did a wc on 10/22
not sure what else to do.

Thinking ima buy a few more nass, 3 scarlet hermits and maybe a sally light foot crab or emerald crab

Wondering what else would be good to add?

In 28 gallons of water you do not need a lot of snails. I have the same size tank with 3 snails and no hermits. You want algae eaters like Turbos, Certh and Astera. Always keep an eye out for Polyclad Flat Worms and Euince worms with unexpected snail deaths.

What type of snails are you finding "belly up"? If they are Nerite, Astraea, or Turbo snails, and it still looks like there is something inside the shell, just flip them over.

I left them in the tank for a few days and when I went to pick em up and set back on there foot they have fell out of the shell
2 turbos only one was added at a time both died in a weeks span
2 astra
1nass is not moving

I started with dry rock so I dont have any bristleworms and havent seen any flatworms

Odd. Bristleworms won't attack snails unless they're dying or dead even if you had them. If they were out of their shell and nothing was eating them, I'm inclined to think they were on their way out when you got them, or they weren't acclimated slow enough.

The 2 astra and 1 turbo had been in my tank for months then when I upgraded to a jbj 28 they died. And the new turbo was on a 2hr drip along with an acro frag.
