My first reef tank crashed 5 plus years ago and between having a kid and life I did not have the time or heart to restart it back then. We moved into a new house in February and I decided to restart in mid March. I don't have many pics from the beginning ugly stages. I started with most of my old rock and sand from the first tank. I had kept most of the sand and some of the rock live in a fish only tank for my wife but that tank was never really taken care of. So I'm not sure exactly how much live rock and sand are in here in terms of weight lol. As far as equipment I'm running a reef octopus BH 1000 and a penguin bio wheel 350 with no media except the occasional carbon or floss. Light is a fluval marine and reef 2.0 with wifi module, thinking of adding another one in the near future. Flow is powered by two hydor gen 3 1350 gph power heads and one hydor koralia 1 425 gph power head. Livestock at this time consists of a coral beauty angel, an Arabian pseudochromis, a skunk cleaner shrimp, a pistol shrimp, a tiger conch, 3 Astraea snails, and some hermits. Corals are GSP, Xenia, two unknown colonies of zoa, sunny D palys, and a neon green cabbage leather. I've had decent growth from the leather and the sunny D in the past month I've had them. I've also got a few new polyps on the other zoa colonies. The Xenia and GSP have shown little growth. I will keep this thread updated as the tank ages and I add new coral.

Finally after weeks of searching I finally found a good looking pair of percs and they are good size to boot. The best part is they aren't putting up with any of my Arabian pseudochromis' crap. He will swim up to them aggressively and they don't even budge lol. The male will turn around and look at him and he will in turn flair his fins out and then swim away. So excited to finally have my clowns! I'm hoping they will maybe host the neon green leather once it gets bigger. That or a hammer if and when I add one.

Love your fish selection and anemone, how stunning! And that Neon Dottyback, wow! :) Following.

Thank you! The tank has done very well so far! The neon is probably my favorite, though he has calmed down some since adding the clown pair. I'm thinking of adding one more fish but not sure if I want to and mess up the chemistry they all have going on.

Got some new additions yesterday. A green sinularia leather, some rhodactis mushrooms, and a tubinaria frag. The polyps aren't open as much today as they were yesterday. It will be my first sps frag.

Well tank made a year old a few days ago. Been pretty good so far! Thinking of making a little upgrade and transferring to a 40 breeder so I can add a sump.

I'm late, but congrats on your one year anniversary with the tank! Gosh, all your fish look so nice! Great choices! Love your tank.
