29 gallon biocube filtration

I have started a biocube and was jus curious if some that own a biocube use bioballs or other things in the middle chamber would like some input and help please

What's the plan, reef? If it is, I would take out the bio balls. And add either a skimmer and media basket, or a refugium and media basket. You can get an idea of what I am talking about on INtank.com. They make these specific for bio cubes. Or you can take the idea and create your own, that's what I did.lol. I went with media basket with pad, purigen, and chemipure elite, and refugium basket lit from behind the tank, in chamber 2. And a protein skimmer that fits in chamber 1. This is my best out of a handful of tanks I run. Perfect parameters, loaded with corals.

That is what I did. I made the 2 baskets myself pretty good with plexiglass. I watched the INtank YouTube video.

Look at the whole link it was an entry into a competition on R2R. Lots of good info and upgrades for reef! The only other thing I've changed since was I upgraded the skimmer from the little air stone biocube oceanic to a better one that fits in chamber 1.

Biocube 29 open top and no skimmer,but I have installed tunze Nano skimmer on a return chamber before,it fit perfected,but not enough bioload(3nano fish)

therefore I removed it

I have a jbj 29gallon tank no top , no skimmer all I have for filtration is 2 chemi bags one has carbon and the other one has gfo. I do a 5 gallon water change every week. It's a mix reef and I have 5 fish.

What's under the bags I mean if the water hits it does it is it loud

I have a bc29 with heater in chamber one as well as the intake for my hang on the back skimmer which empties into chamber two directly on top of my filter floss. InTank Media Basket in chamber two against chamber 1 that runs filter floss on top, Purigen in the middle, and chemipure elite on the bottom. I have the InTank fuge basket in chamber two as well that sits next to chamber 3. I probably wouldn't buy this one again if I was doing it again. The bc29 are too small for an effective fuge. Right now mine is holding the filter sponge to seed for my QT. chamber 3 holds the return pump and my auto top off sensor and auto top off line where ro/DI water gets added to the system.

It's not loud because I keep the water level high
There's a pice of acrylic that keeps the media bags up so the water can flow thru them
