Alright, Im getting mixed feelings on a few things. Have a Stock 29 gallon biocube After the Cycle completes ill remove the bioballs and add the Chemipure in its place. Is it worth the extra money to get the Coralife Media basket/Fuge To put in that center spot on the biocube if i plan on having a reef tank with 2 fish in it? And another question i get alot is i need a protein skimmer (Its manditory) for a reef tank. But ive been told just keep up with water changes for the smaller tank and i dont need a skimmer. If i do need a skimmer which would be suggested. (AquaticLife 115 Skimmer) or is there a better one? Thanks again.

When I had my biocube I used a mediabasket from intank alongside a tunze nano skimmer. Worked great! You don't have to wait to do this because you might see a bit of a cycle when you remove the bioballs.

+1 I have the some setup with DIY LED lights and I keep SPS, clams and 2 clownfish. I run Chemi-pure+ and Purigen

I would strongly recommend a protein skimmer. Like you said it can be done without one, but it would make your life much easier with one. As to the certain type of skimmer to get I am not much help :(

I appreciate it guys. Ill have to look into it. For some reason since i didnt buy the media basket they dont have it atm So im hoping its just on Back order.

I don't know if the chamber is the some size mine is a oceanic and it is a tight fit but I would just get the media basket and think about getting a protein skimmer instead of the fuge. The fish saver is nice thought I had to dig my clowns out of the back a few times before I got one.

When I had my biocube 29 I had the AquaticLife 115 skimmer in the first chamber the intank mediabasket in the 2nd with a heater. Retrofited a Cree led setup in the stock hood a DIY light on the back side of the tank to grow macro algae in the mediabasket. 5 gallon water change a week and keep anything I got my hands on alive in the tank. Here is a video of my biocube when I had it filmed on a iPhone 4.

edit also my biocubes back wall was high enough that a fish saver was not needed. My roommates biocube was a older model and his back wall was just a hair over the water line he needed a fish saver.
