Hi I have a standard 29 gallon tank that has been set up for about two years as a FOWLR tank. At the end of March this year I was able to purchase new lighting for it so that I could start to add corals. Its LED lighting that has a maximum of 180 watts (60 LED's at 3 watts each). Its dimmable and programmable. I also am running two pumps to circulate the tank. They are running on a hydor controller to get some different flow throughout the tank. I cant think of the size of the circulation pumps but I can add that later.
The parameters that I've measured are as follows
Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates = 0
Phosphates = 0
KH, ALK = 6.7, 2.39
Calcium = 340
Spec Gravity = 1.025
Temp = 78
Fish list
Yellow watchman goby/Tiger pistol shrimp
Starry Blenny
2 ocellaris clownfish
Red Stripe Angelfish (Centropyge eibli)
Invertebrates
Tiger pistol listed above
Blood shrimp
3-4 astrea snails
3 nassarius snails
1 turbo
Corals added so far
1 Elegance coral
1 Frogspawn with three heads
A colony of mushrooms that started as two on a piece of live rock I got when originally cycling the tank.
More questions will follow as I think of them but I wanted to give a background of whats in my tank at this point. The angel may not stay on the list much longer as he is currently tormenting the elegance. Oh and I have a basic hang on back filter right now. But its working so far as my levels that should be affected by this have consistently read zero over the last month. I will post pictures shortly of what my tank currently looks like.
Let me know what you guys think so far and what I need to work on. Any input would be nice as I have ideas on what to do but its always good to hear from others whether its good or bad I just want to have a nice healthy tank.
