29 gallon help appreciated

Hey everyone,

Working on my 29g aquascape and could use some help. I have a rough piecing of the scape but it just doesn’t look right to me, any ideas on what can help? It’s tough to find a placement that doesn’t inhibit glass cleaning on the sides right now for me while also getting nice looking rock placement. I like having a few caves here, but the balance seems off.

Consider having the rocks away from the back wall so you don't get deadspots of detritus and what not.

Gonna have 2 clownfish definitely, but no plans on what else to put in as far as fish (maybe a 6 line wrasse and something else with it). There will be a CUC with an emerald crab and some hermits from reefcleaners, maybe a peppermint shrimp as well.

For corals, my plan is mixed reef if possible. I mostly like LPS and some softies, but would like an SPS or two if feasible. Plans can always change though.

first thing, work on a table instead of in your tank, so there's no accident with falling rocks.
use tape to make the inside outline of your tank.
pic for reference.

with the rock, try going high in the back left corner, and slope down at an angle towards the front center.
contrary to popular belief, you can't go to high. my left side of my scape clears the water. I have 3 anenomes that chose that spot and are barely below the water line.
the slope gives you area to mount corals.
on the right side, looking straight down, make a "L" shape down the side and then turning towards the center.
add rock to go higher, either at the corner, or along the back.
that should also leave you area on the bottom to place some corals (scolies, tracs, etc) and/or place a solitary rock for GSP, clove polyps or zenia.

I highly recommend spacing your rocks away from all panels. It makes maintenance easier and you’ll get better water circulation through the tank.

The picture I posted doesn't show too well, but that's what I was attempting to do. There's enough space on the sides for my magnetic cleaner to pass by and in the back I have enough room for a siphon tube to get in there. Although I am concerned about flow through the back, I'll try to get water in there and see what it does to the flow patterns.

I think I'm mainly interested in an aquascape for the livestock in the tank, I focused on getting some caves and little hideaways. I would have liked a couple islands for zoas to isolate on, but with only 12" of depth to work with there isn't much wiggle room for this particular sized tank.
