So my 29 gallon tank is currently running fallow to remove ich. I have a pair of false perc in quarantine. So while I am waiting for the tank to be ready again I am researching and getting suggestions for further stocking. It is a standard 29 gallon aquarium, with a 1 gallon hob fuge, ns80 skimmer 35lbs of rock. Tank is about 6 months old. Current stock is 2 false perc clowns, 1 scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp, 5 blue leg hermits, 5 Mexican red leg reef hermits, 5 cerith snails, 2 Tongan snails, 1 emerald crab, 1 porcelain crab, 1 icon starfish. I would like to add up to 3 more fish...I don't won't any firefish. I am thinking of a coral beauty angel and a six line wrasse and would like to add 1 more fish. Any thought on these fish in a 29 gallon or suggestions for fish, or comments on that stocking level. Will be an LPS and softie tank.

A 29 gallon tank is too small for both of those fish unfortunately. You might want to consider things like a Bangaii Cardinal, Royal Gramma, maybe a Blenny of some sort.

I was thinking that for the coral beauty, it's just my favorite fish so wishful thinking as I have seen others do it, but I don't know how successful they were in the long run. The six line though, that is news to me. Is it because their activity or aggression? I was going by live aquaria, and it listed them for 30 gallons and max size of 3", led me to believe they should be fine in my 29 gallon.

I'd advise staying away from the six-line in that size tank. They can be super aggressive even in bigger tanks. If you do add one, do it last because there's a good chance it will harass any new editions once it's established. I've been there done that. I currently have an Indigo Dottyback in my BioCube 29, it's a model citizen and gorgeous. Check them out.

Yeah if I was going to do the sixline, the plan was for him to be the last addition.

I would go with your two clowns and the six line. (make sure to add the 6 line after the clowns re establish their territory)
That would probably be the max for your 30 unfortunately.

I have a snowflake clown, orchid dottyback, and a six line in my 25. Ive never seen one ounce of aggression in any of them (except the clown towards my hand lol) each fish is going to have its own tolerances. (had all 3 for over a year)

I don't disagree but you've got 3 very tough fish. Replace any one of those with something not so tough and I'm willing to bet it doesn't last a couple days.

Well, I did have upto 5 fish in this tank before, and parameters all stayed fine. I just took 3 back to the fish store since I couldn't quarantine all 5 while letting the tank go fallow to treat for ich. Took back a green chromis, firefish, and long fin fairy wrasee. And was looking to do things a little different once I started stocking again. The fairy wrasse was really too big for the tank anyway.

Ich introduced from the macro when setting up the fuge.

oh yea for sure! lol theyre all little beasties....I wouldnt put a firefish/cardinal or something like that in there lol

I'd stay away from that six line as well. The one I had in my 60 gallon breeder was quite the hand full. It was extremely aggressive and just a very active swimmer. I would think that it would be bouncing off the walls in a 29 gallon tank. Those Dottybacks can be mean too. Also keep in mind that if your Clownfish ever decide to pair up you might have to make some changes anyways. FWIW the pair of Ocellaris Clowns I have in my 20 gallon tank won't tolerate a thing, and believe me I've tried. GL.

Well after I reintroduce the clown to the tank, the plan will be to add 1 fish per month until fully stocked again.

My clowns are already paired...the reason why I chose to set up a quarantine to keep them. They also host an anemkne, but I don't plan on doing an anemone in this tank.

If doing any of the pseudochromis, that rules out a royal grammar correct?

Before I took fish back, the only fish my clowns had any problem with was the green chromis when it would swim too close to the torch coral they were hosting

The Indigo is a pretty safe bet. Of course all fish are different.

I wouldn't expect it to behave any differently than the Orchid Dottyback from which it's from, (1/2) but like you said all fish are different. Your definitely rolling the dice with one of these in a 29 gallon tank though IMO.

Sixlines can definitely be problematic, as can dottybacks.

As already mentioned the clowns can view the whole tank as theirs once they begin spawning.

What about a watchman goby/pistol shrimp combo or a stigmatura blenny?
