Tanks been up for 5 weeks. Got the phantom clown at 4 weeks and got the Euphyllias yesterday. For filtration I have a hang on back filter (most cost effective filtration for tank size, imo) that is full of seachem matrix, chemipure elite, and polyfilters. It’s got 20 pounds of live sand and 42 pounds of live rock. For lighting I have an ocean revive t247 (blues at 80% and whites at 40%). I wanted to go with leds for more viewing purposes then growing purposes. For water circulation I’ve got 2 current usa eflux 1050’s, only on abt 20% flow each. I plan to add a small flame angel in the next month or so and soon after that a small mystery wrasse. Maybe I’ll get a second fish in the next week or two. As far as corals go I plan to do a couple cool zoas and some mushrooms in the lower levels of the tank. For mushrooms Ill get rhodactus, ricordia, and Yuma’s. In the mid levels of the tank I plan to have hammers and frogspawns (not a fan of torches). And maybe a few easy keep acros like stylophora and digitada. Hoping for hammer/frogspawn dominated look.

Your setup looks very similar to my tank! Mine is 37 gallons (extra tall 29g) and 10g sump. Looks like we are running similar equipment as well. This is a old picture because now I have several euphyilla frags as well.

A cryptic and the new hammer

Today I just had to get a pair of cryptic wrasses for my tank. They were both fat, eating, and of a good size. I payed $80 for the pair. I got a steal on the hammer and frogspawn. The hammer was 25 bucks (7 heads, and the pink frogspawn was $40 (6 heads). Im already building up my euphyllia garden.

I’m thinking about buying this on Wednesday. It’s an Aussie toxic hammer. Branching. And it’s $200. So it’s a bit Pricy. It’s a good 11 heads tho. So lemme know your thoughts on weather or not I should get it. Here it is!

Nice piece for sure!! Depending on where you are in the country, $200 is either a good, or not so great price. Definitely not outrageous though.

I’m in Raleigh Nc. The piece retails for 300. I work at my lfs so I could get it down

Hello. On Sunday I did go to my lfs and get that Aussie hammer. It was fine Sunday and Monday, but yesterday evening I realized a Head was missing. . Literally. And when I looked closer I saw this -

This is brown jelly disease. Usually this means my coral is good as dead. But I’m not gonna give up that easy on this thing because I love it. So I turned off the lights. I did this so the heads wouldn’t fully extend and touch. This meant the disease would spread so easily. Today I took it to the lfs. 3 heads gone. That fast. And I had them cut it into as many heads as possible so that if it came back on one of them I could just throw it and prevent further spread. Here’s the result.

I think I’m in the clear. Fingers crossed. And i might get away with a little Aussie garden. .

On Sunday I also got a tiny lamarks angel. Which I will put in a 75 gallon that I’m setting up as we speak. .

I also got a single head Darwin’s hammer ($20)

I got this for 90 bucks which is pretty good considering it’s got 7 heads.

Here’s a nice shot of a few fish and the corals in their prime (rip Aussie colony)

Thanks for reading.

Second attempt at pictures. .

80%blues and 40% whites. When I might bump it to max blues and 50% whites. My tank is about 18 inches tall and the lights are about 9 inches above the water line

Here’s the tank. Lost the clown, the angel, and a wrasse to ick a few months ago. Had no fish in the tank for a while, while I QT the surviving wrasse. I let the tabk go fishless for 6 weeks, so the ick should b gone. A few weeks ago I added a flame back angel. He’s really small. Only abt an inch and a half. Also added a few ricordea and zoas. Won’t load the pics of them tho. . I guess the Aussie torch is new and the splatter hammer. . Been really focused on my fish only. Got a few hard to keep fish.
