Hello, I am planning to build a Sump on our regular size 29g & cabinet space is limited. I can only fit 12x12x12 tank w/c is roughly a 7.5g Cube. I don't have a plan drilling the tank, I will just buy an Overflow. Now my Questions: Do I need a baffles for that 7.5? I am only planning to put a Skimmer. Then for the Return pump, is Mag 5 ok? It is about 2-4 feet. Is 7.5 Cube too small for a Sump?Appreciate the input.

It's pretty tough because of the limited space. I would suggest either getting and hang over the back skimmer or find space for a larger sump. What ever you choose I hope it turns out well!

Thanks! I have HOB skimmer now, maybe I can use the 7.5 cube as a Refugium? Still uncertain on how much return pump I should choose.

I'm not sure whether the hob skimmer in hang on back or in sump skimmer but either way the 7.5 gallon refugium sounds like a good idea. As for the return pump the goal is not to exceed 10 gallon per hour, per gallon flow so pretty much anything less than a 300 gph pump will do. Hope this helps and remember to have fun with it!

I can leave the HOB skimmer on the DT now, but If I can fit an In sump skimmer I will put that on the 7.5g Sump. My guess I will have to build a 2 chamber, 1 for the In sump and 1 for return pump and a heater.

My is 264 gph and work perfect I buy my in harbor freight for 14.00 dollars
