2nd chamber for korallin calcium reactor

Hi, I currently run a Korallin C-1502 calcium reactor and just purchased a s-3002 from someone that came without the pump.

My plan is to swap the lids and use the 3002 as the calcium reactor and the 1502 as a second chamber to offset the lower ph entering the tank.

Questions are:

1. Do I need to purchase and run the recirculation pump on the second chamber?

2. Can I use magnesium media (or something better) in the second chamber instead of filling both with TLF Reborn media?

No to extra pump, most ppl put an easier to melt media, since it excess co2 its helping burn off
