Looking to possibly add another pump to the tank to increase flow to keep the debris suspended off the BB glass. I've got a 3x2' tank with a maxspect XF330 on the left end of the tank facing to the right end mounted horizontally near the top of the tank. I run the maxspect at 50% n random mode, which would be about 16x turnover at constant mode, not sure how that translates into tank turnover in random mode, maybe 10-12% overall? Have varios4 at 100% for return. Question is whether to add a 2nd maxspect XF330 pump only at $150 since it should connect to the current maxspect controller and somehow sync with the other one potentially, or add a tunze 6105 controllable pump.

The maxspect would be nice because the gyre just works well for me right now and it seems logical to connect it to the unused port on the controller. I think I would mount the 2nd XF330 to the right end of the back positioned vertically in the back right corner.

The tunze idea was simply to add a different type of pump/flow pattern to the tank, it also would have it's own controller anyway.

Any thoughts on one or the other in this scenario?

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll leave the tunzes to add as additional pumps in a future tank upgrade.
