Ok seriously ? What do you people have to say about this ?

The PH impact really depends on the particular system... A reactor is still the simpler method in my eyes since making two part gets to be a pain on larger higher demand systems.

I have a Ca reactor and have no intention on going with dosing. My PH runs 8.0-8.1 but I dose kalk also. Even without the kalk my tank ran around 7.9-8.0 and was fine.

I throw Kalk in my topoff water (I'm mostly softies and LPS).
(I evaporate 2-4 gal a day depending on season)

If I get to the point where I need more I'll go to a
Kalk reactor, If I need even more then a C02 system.

Two part always seemed like a pain to me.

Cal rex, has and always will (untill somthing else better come out) will be the best. There is no if/and's about it cal is dial it in and forget it for a while. No just refill it every once in a while and change your media. Compaired to mesuring out and manualy dumping in a mix EVERY day. On high end cal rex you wont even need kalk most the time if you have a dual chamber rex. I run a rex and will never change.

It's not difficult to automate 2 part dosing and it's fairly trouble free if you make larger bacths of solution. That said, I still prefer a reactor.

This is the feedback I was hoping for, I have a cal reactor and didn't want to change to 2part before I even hooked it all up haha

Im running a calcium reactor and I just purchased two dosing pumps. Im going to start dosing 2 part along with the reactor.

I love my GEO reactor but have a hard time maintaining my Ca and Mag. I have been thinking about running some dosing pumps also. I would also use it to dose vodka.

I run a GEO cal rx and am very happy. One thing people overlook is that if you are breaking down coral skeletons you get all the trace elements that that coral metabolized over its lifetime. Can't get that with 2 part.

I dosed 2 part for yrs and change over to a cal rx. That lasted a couple months and back to 2 part. Ill stay with what I know best its much easier for me to control.

carx can definitely be tricky to get dialed in, especially on a new and/or small system, or if you are new to the whole calcium reactor concept. though once you wrap your head around it, and if you buy all of the right equipment (!!!), i have found them to be nearly as easy as 2-part to dial in.

2-part is probably almost always better for sub-100g and low-demand systems.

I started dosing 2 part again on the 100g after not dosing anything at all in any of my tanks the past year... my LPS and SPS love it!!! I only dose about 30 - 60 ml of Kent 2 part and 30 - 45 ml of Kent Mg and it has been working out pretty well... :)
