Im setting up 2 57w uv sterilizers on my 900xxl. Does anybody have input on running both of them in line off the same pump or run both separately off 2 separate pumps.
Thanks in advance for the insight.

Personally, I’m a fan of redundancy... I have two return pumps for this reason, if one pump fails the other will keep going. But that’s probably somewhat less critical with UV. I’m not sure I really see a strong reason to go one way or the other.

I have 3 57w running on my tank. Two in-line off one pump, and one off a second pump. Obviously having two in line allows you to run more gph through it. I run about 600 gph through the dual UV, and 300 gph through the single UV measured by flow meter.

Like @Brett S says, dual returns have its own benefits, and you can run one Uv unit on each. If you only have room or plumbing for single return, then running in line is fine.

IMO You should run one at the higher algae sterilizing rate and the other at the slow protozoan rate. Then you have both bases covered.
