I’m finally doing my return in my 90 gallon, it is set up for a herbie overflow and has a 1” drain. My lock-line is 3/4”, so would I be ok with using 3/4” piping and hose for my return? It’s a jebao dc pump and does 1000gph max

Short answer is yes.

Long Answer. It will reduce the flow somewhat to neck down the pump outlet. Will it to a meaning full extent not IMO. I normally run 3/4in returns on anything less than 100 gallons and even my 180 gallon redsea reefer comes with a single 3/4in return standard.
