I have a 180g Visio aquarium. It has a 1.5 " Durso drain, but only a 3/4" bulkhead for the return.

I don't have room to make it bigger. I have 2 (3250gph) pumps in the tank for circulation. Attached to a Red sea wavemaker.

Is the 3/4" return going to be an issue on Flow?

I have a Jaebo DCT 4000 pump on my 75 gallon using 3/4" line. I can get a bigger return pump, but
if the 3/4" won't support the higher flow, then might be a waste of money.

This will be a tang tank with whatever corals I can get away with.. :)

Thoughts oh masters of the reef plumbing?

You should be able to flow between 1200-1400 gph depending on the head pressure of the pump. Pumps with higher discharge pressure could push even more.

I have a jebco 12000 rated at 3k gph. I run 1" drain and dual 3/4 returns. I can run it at max power without issue. On my 180g fresh water tank.

This all stems from the " You need 30x turnover" in your tank for X coral.. Don't know if that's true for this instance since I have good circulation in tank

I'll cut off one of the returns when I get home and check if it keeps up. You could just hang an extra return over the edge that's how I have my canister backup done.

I prefer to run 3x tank volume through my sump. Runs much quieter that way. The rest of the flow can be supplied by powerheads or a closed loop system imo.

I would try to make two return and put the overflow in the middle. Just for the appearance...

The 3/4" returns are good. There is no issue there. Just keep in mind that you are not trying to blast the aquarium with your return for circulation. It should be used to get steady flow from display to your sump for filtration.
