Would it be ok to start using Reef Carbonate and Reef Complete to raise up my calcium and Alk ahead of time? I will have some corals after the tank cycles but did not want to add these and delay or mess up the cycling process. Thank you

What do they test at? Are you sure they need to be raised?
I have not tested for them yet. I was assuming using rodi water that those levels would be low to zero. I was going to test before adding once I knew it wasn't going to mess with the cycling of the tank

Have you used any salt in your tank? Or are you just cycling with RO? Salt comes with all the trace elements you need. ALK and CAL as well.

Yes I used salt. So after I check and of they are low it safe to bring them up?

It would be yes but they’re prolly high right now since there’s nothing to use them up.. your cycle should be complete already anyways and corals love ammonia it’s the fish you gotta watch out for.

It may have been bad salt batch it happend to me and I lost corals. Test the salt mix. Also make sure that your salinity is correct. I was at 32 and thinking everything is low.
