Hi guys on a 48x24x20
I got a possibility to put 3 g4 pro over is it over kill or its good for the light spread and coverages ??
Tank is sps on top lps on sand

Thanks

If I add a third should I acclimated ?

I have two over my 36x36 cube. Coverage is good overall. I'd probably start with two and add a third if needed.

SPS tank? Schedule?

Pretty much just an aptasia tank at the moment, lol. After fighting off plagues of algae, cyano, and a tank crash, the aptasia have become pretty dominant. I was running the SPS AB+ schedule for 12 hours/day for a little while, but recently switched to the PHX 14K for 12 hours/day. I like the brighter appearance of my tank at the moment, but I suspect I might go back to the AB+ as I get more corals in the tank and have more color.

Can I have more opinion ?
Cause I got 3 at home and I'm not sure if I open the box or I resell it
3 would be super killer coverage and in my opinion. I prefer coverage over power. youll have 0 shadowing problems. I have 3 AI Sol's (12in fixtures) on my 48in 55g. its a big wall of light, like a t5, but with 3x the power(that I dont use) I would say use a meter (par or LUX) to set the intensity.

fwiw, shove all the colors to full , mix down the color ratio by eye(or use a preset color from the company) then set the overall peak intensity (in par or lux)
Use either a high short photo period or a lower long photo period with a sort peak (ie 6 hour peak with 12 hr total) OR 8hr peak with a ten hour total.

Thanks yeah I think with 3 I'll get a better coverage I'm running the 2 at 70% intensity

I will install the third this week get the intensity down to 50% and ramp it back up to 60-65

I will probably install a eurobrace on each side if I put 3 rms with light on the back of it to be sure it don't open up lol

It does I will build a canopy soon cause the spread of the g4 blind me when I'm on the sofa !
It send install thanks for the help man

I have 3 g3 pro's on my 5 foot tank. Like salty said it helps with shadowing and I'm running close to max power. I'm getting around 350 par 6 to 7 inches below water line. I know your light has more power but if you run the SPS AB+ schedule it will cut by about 25%.

Best move I made adding 3rd light. Don't mind my light boxes. It helped soften the gen 3 light to prolly what you get with the 4's.

Yeah I know ab+ schedule cut a lot cause white green red are prettt low on setting .
But the coverage with the third is awsome and by next year I'm planning to switch to a 5-6 foot tank
My sps already show there're appreciation of this third light :-)

Where did you get these light box from ? Or its a DIY

And what lense are you using on the g3 pro the regular or the TIR wide 120d?

An interesting topic, I want to change my Ai Prime by Radion, and I plan to install 3 Radion XR30 G3 pro or G4 Pro.

And one of my biggest concerns is the coverage, since technically with 2 me is enough, but I do not want any dark areas and I do not know if with three it will be very light.

My tank measures 59 "x23.6" x19.6 "

I don't specifically, but here's the thread where I was trying to get the angles and size honed in. https://www.reef2reef.com/index.php?threads/265057/
I used the cardboard to get what I wanted and then measured angles and cut. I used a two part epoxy to hold them together and then just used some small cloth type bungees as suspenders over lamp so there weren't any permanent mods to lights.

I believe this was the board I used. Smooth on one side and had the wood finish embossed on the other. Of course I painted the embossed side black and left the other its natural white.

I am running 2 g3 (not pro - however with g3 there is little difference) over my 24x24 cube at 75% intensity, so I don't think it's overkill!
