Hello, i am planning a 3 gallon pico reef build. I am going to start cycling the tank tommorow and i will give updates whenever i can.

I am still deciding stock for the aquarium. My current wishlist is:

2 zoas

2 mushrooms

Pulsing xenia

1 peppermint shrimp

Sounds cool, I would recommend sticking to softies in such a small build since they are really easy to care for imo, just make sure your lights aren’t too strong for them

Good luck!

Sexy's are cool but they can definitely eat corals. If you do decide on them make sure they are very well fed but just dont be shocked at some nipping. As for other things maybe a pom pom crab or some hermits would work too.
I just looked at pom pom crabs and I really like them!

Ive actually never owned one i just know they are very small and seem to have character. Would get lost in a big tank but stand out in a pico.

Also check this guy out. He posts here and has a 3.8g pico that is amazing. A very very tiny fish is also doable if you if you know what you are doing.

I have a tank that size with a Greissenger Goby as the only fish...he's perfect in there! I used real ocean live rock so copepods would naturally be introduced and all I have to do is feed a little phyto daily to maintain the population!

Copepods are cool, i'll look into them!

Pico's are awesome. not as hard to care for as I thought it would be. I have a 1 gal Small in one from PNW customs (pic) and I am gonna setup the .4 gal fromt he same soon. Just waiting on a replacement display tank, as I scratched the frik out of my last one.
