3" hippo tang missing

I have a 3 inch hippo in a 90 display normally he's always out today he hasn't been out once.i Can't see him in my rock work without tearing it apart and I have screen lids on tank so he didn't jump out

I would also use a flash light to inspect all the nooks and crannies. You would be supersized what they can wedge themselves into.

+1 also sump and filter socks. Unfortunately for me I had a 1'' hippo slip down my overflow. didn't find him till it was to late

What kind of rock did you use? FWIW I've had a Red Eye crab grab ahold of a Hippo tang that size before. It wasn't a pretty sight when I found them.

I found him sleeping in the rock after I tore rock work apart... but did some new landscaping in the tank so I guess it worked out

Tangs like their sleep since they are active fish. my leopard wrasse disappears for 1-2 days all the time and soon as I start to worry she shows herself.
