Hello everyone.
My tank is 3 months old and I see some weird stuff in my tank. Can anyone please help identifying these 3 things?

1) See-through tube sticking out from under my clam's mantle.
2) Weird snail-ish thingy.
3) Pinkish stuff with white dots under one live rock.

1) is a clam and the tube is sticking out from under the mantle when the clam is retracted
2) is a pinkish substance under a mushroom on the rock
3) behaves like a snail with 2 halve shells. It got into my overflow and I placed it back after which it dug into the sand

Well, pic one may be a Stomatella Snail then, they are really good to have.

Am I the only one that can see the isopod right under the snail? [emoji27]

Also are you sure that's not a pyramid snail on the clam?
Sorry just pointing out what I see.

I had a look online and it looks like an isopod. Doesn't really say if it's good or bad. As for the snail itself, still no better off knowing what it is

isopods aremail definitely bad. I can't tell if that's exactly what it is because I can't see the eyes. But that's what the body looks like.
As far as the pyramid snail on the clam I'm almost positive you can get wrasses that will eat them. But you should probably get a 100% I.D. on the critter under the snail first as isopods are fish predators.
would need a better picture on the one underneath the mushroom for a positive I.D.

I took another pic of the tube on the clam. I don't see any shell so don't know if it is a snail

Yeah I don't think they're pyramid snails now.
Does your clams mantle close partially when you snap the pic?

I had to touch the side of the mantle for it to contract that far, and got a fright as usual when it squirted me.

Here is another pic of the pinkish stuff under my rock, hope it helps?

I am not sure if these are mermaid cups or something else. It doesn't look cup shaped?

I'd pull that rock out and bleach it and start over. It's way better to do it now then 3 more months down the Rd. You got some serious hitchhikers and a ton of nuseince algae.
One of these alone would be a hard battle to over come and trying to battle them all at once[emoji53] nearly impossible.

I think the growth under your mushroom is Lobophora. I think it's harmless but you should look it up.

The tank Is only 3 months old, and the algae was much worse 2 weeks ago. I have seen a HUGE amount of hitchhikers, both good and bad.
I had Digitate Hydroids but my Angel got rid of them. I have a crab that murdered 1 of my fish but he is in my overflow now.
I have seen Brittle Stars, Bristle Worms and a lot more...
I just feel that 3 months is way too soon to jump to any conclusions or actions that I may regret later on...

Yup 3 months is too soon but a few of those pics like what's on your clam and rock are type of filter feeders or spunges

You just need to dip more and be more selective of what you put in your tank

To each their own. The algae is something that'll take some work but not really a big deal. But I'd be worried about the isopods (if that's what they are) and hydroids, crabs and sorry to say this but..... there's probably more to come.
I would at the very least try to get 100% I.D. on all the above and do your research make a game plan and figure out if it's feasible to battle this. Better to assess the situation now then wait for another 3 months.
