I have 180g tank with the current fish population:
2 Pajama Cardinals
2 Kaudern's Cardinals
2 Yellow Tangs
1 Sailfin Tang
1 Sixline wrasse
1 Yellow wrasse
3 clowns

I was considering getting some smaller fish to give the tank a little more activity. I was thinking about the 3 Stripe Damsel, but these little buggers have a bad reputation for being bullies. Should I stay clear of damsels? What is a better option?

Really bad choice for a peaceful tank IMO. If you want damsels Azure's are as peaceful as damsels get. I kept one with a bunch of wrasses without any issues. Any of the Chrysiptera genus are usually your best bet. C. starcki is really pretty too.

Also if you want more color and activity, why not add a bunch more wrasses. I have 11 in the same size tank as yours and will add a couple of more before I'm through.

It doesn’t have to be a damsel. What would you recommend with my current inhabitants?

I'm probably not the best to answer as I am a wrasse-aholic! :D I have 6 fairy wrasses, 1 leopard, 1 Halichoeres and 4 flasher wrasses in a tank with the same foot print as yours! The only problem with your current stocking is the six line. I'm surprised he's tolerating the yellow wrasse....one day he may not.

I think the best thing is to look around on the web site of one of the on line sellers and see what appeals to you. Then come back with questions or suggestions about those particular fish or types of fish. Lots of experience on the site to help you.

Thanks. I love wrasses too. I have been looking for a mystery wrasse for a little while, but I’m not sure if the six line will allow me to add one. I’ll be back with some alternative options.

You should steer clear of the 3 stripe damsel as they get mean . C. tricinctus, or tuxedo damsel, is a similar looking fish with less attitude. It does have some attitude though, so it probably could hold its own in your tank.

It doesn’t have to be damsels. I just picked them because they are pretty and cheap. I was looking for something that would fill out the tank a little.
