3 tank continuous system

Connect a clear hose with a gate valve and attach a small powerhead with another tube to the sump and then send the water to the other tank via powerhead and hose and back to the display jar u can even buy cheap glass drill bits to drill a nice hole in the lid for a return line if you catch my drift

That is a really cool idea about the stairstep but I don't think it would work for,the placement of the tanks however that would be a something to see :)

and this will be the macro algae tank the back is green glitter lol

I haven't read all of this but just got 2 55g from petco at $1/gallon. Thinking of doing something similar.

One thing to consider is putting the refugium higher then the display so pods are not chopped up as they drain to the display.

what I'm thinking of doing is the display lower then the refugium. so the refugium drains to the display and the display drains to a small sump which pumps the water back to the refugium.

Meanwhile you might google Suzies planted marine tank. She had a 2 or 3 tank system balanced with macro algae.

Meanwhile I'll follow along and see how this works.

I haven't really decided on live stock for fish but main DT will be zoa and mushrooms with a chalice the. 1st 2.5 display will be NPS sun coral and one other thing not sure yet. 3rd 2.5 display will be all decorative macro (going to try planted we will see how it works) water will flow from nps to display to macro the nps tank being the main feed tank since from my understanding the require a bit more feeding the most corals and lower light. That will flow to display for remaining food to be eaten by display corals and livestock not sure yet if this tank will require supplement feelings or not but that will than flow back to macro to be cleaned and filled with nutrients to start again in the nps. Tell me your thoughts?

Yeah all plumbed together iv been battling high nitrate cause puff is such a messy eater I put a bigger domino in with him to eat all puffs scraps and I took a lot of dragons breath out it grows like crazy n added a powerhead in the bottom of the macro tank to keep waste suspended its glass bottom n only have a 100 watt halide on it I saved from a old mc donalds remodel they tossed ten of them in the dumpster I have like five spare ballasts it makes the macro grow wild I live in hammond Indiana or id say come grab a bush lol

Id have the macro feed ur displays put a small pump in it feeding ur display then use a overflow tubefrom ur macro to ur display then another overflowtube going display to display n then another ooverflow tube going back to ur macro to complete the circle grab a bottle of pods n thake the lid off n submerge it in the macro tank for a few days to seed ur set up if u go glass bottom on all tanks u can probably get away with five gallon waterchanges every week n b good to go

Or have the pump in a display and u would have a siphon fed displays so no impeller choping up pods use a small air line to suck out the air in the tubes once all the air is out ur good to go

Think I still owed you a pic lol
Just cut the window for the painted sump today.
All 4 of these tanks are plumbed together. The one on the far right is fuge and lights out til tonight.
Glad to see your making headway here.
