Hello so my almost three year old porcupine puffer has a new onset skin infection or bacterial infection I’m not sure what this is if someone could give me an idea of what this is and some treatment options

I’ve seen that before, but not in person. To be honest, I don’t know the cause. It is probably not a parasite unless you’ve added new fish recently.
Any change in the fish’s behavior? Do you have a treatment tank available? You could dose with a broad spectrum antibiotic.

Yes I took him out of my display today mainly because he went on a little killing spree out of no where last night and took out a clown, acan head and bit a chunk of out my toadstool. Before that no issues but anyways he’s in my coral qt right now as he is quite large and my fish qt I felt was not large enough for him. If I dose broad spectrum antibiotics will that affect future coral as I plan to take any coral in their out before I dose anyways

No, carbon use and water changes will make your coral QT safe for corals after a treatment....

But now I'm wondering - did it show these spots before it went rouge in your tank? If so, then treating with antibitoics seems reasonable, If on the other hand, you didn't see these spots until AFTER the fish was biting corals and such, you might want to wait just to see if the issue arose from that.
