30 Days Growth

Here's 30 days growth on one of my small pieces. Side profile shot from the same area -- sadly I don't have a frontal shot of it's growth so far.

Thank you, this little PC Superman has definitely hit it's stride. It's been taking off at a pretty good rate.

I'm using ATI Essentials 3 part, which has all trace elements. Before switching to this, I'd have said no, I don't add anything besides plain Alk/Cal/Mag. I do keep nutrients higher than a lot of people -- no3 at 25, po4 at 0.06

The growth hasn't really changed going from my other 2 part to ATI essentials, but corals which were not totally happy perked up. PE is excellent in the whole tank, including a few finicky corals that never had the best PE.

I got it from Bustayankee, I trust his stuff. The colors look right for a Superman too.

Oh trust me, LOTS of my SPS are not growing like this guy. This coral is as happy as can be, and it's growing like a champion. While everything is growing, this guy is the second fastest, the fastest is a Red Planet -- Everything else is fighting for 3rd behind those two.

It's supposed to be a light pink body with red polyps and blue tips -- Blue and Red -- Hence the name -- Anything with the name "Superman" is supposed to be blue and red.

Why, is a total mystery...

Not sure how Darrell's piece look fully grown out but here is a quick iPhone pic of mine. It's a flat tabling acro. Mine is not completely round because it's been cut a few times.

Well I can tell you, do any simple search on google and you'll see they look like the pictures I posted. Either yours isn't as happy as it could be, or you don't have a legit Superman. I'm not joking about the name, almost every single coral named "Superman" is supposed to be blue and red. So if you see/buy a "Superman" anything that isn't those colors -- It's either not happy, or not legit.

All good man. Just trying to help. Any legitimate vendor with the real PC Superman will tell you it does not have milli-ish growth structure. This pic was taken by a buddy that came by today. But i guess you're right it doesn't look like a happy coral.

Doesn't look happy if it's the wrong color. You can make a colorful coral poop brown and it'll still have PE and be 'happy'.

I'd have to agree with @vuqchu on this one.. @Rakie your PC Superman has an almost millepora like growth to it. PC Superman should be a tabling acro.
Also, all the pictures you've linked for the PC Superman have the blues cranked way up. I'm sure if his tank was blasting blues, the tips on his PC Superman would also glow blue. Any coral with white growth tips and blue lighting could be called "blue tips".
Take a look at some other examples of PC Superman from people who don't crank up blues and heavily photoshop. Schnitzel's colony is a good example.

The size is throwing it off I suppose. Because this thing may be growing well but it's not more than 2.5" in total size.

And as for blues -- Definitely not. My colors look dead on and I have no 'blues'. All Delight's picture isn't blue saturated either. And finally, blue's alone have a tendency to make purples and blues disappear (note, I said blues ALONE).

I appreciate it, but first look at the comments -- from what I've seen, I absolutely have what most reputable vendors sell as the PC Superman.. Their growth pattern is the same, their color is the same. When I gave proof (All Delight, Battlecorals, and I could find many, many more) @vuqchu decided to get passive aggressive about my color comment...

How Colors Work -- Blue's don't make blue pop, they make it disappear. Have you ever heard that "Plants don't see green light"? That's because plants reflect green, that's why we see plants as green. The colors we see in life are the colors the item in question doesn't absorb, but reflects. This is how everything in the known universe is seen. This is also why black holes are invisible, they are so powerful light can't even escape them.

Here is a little quick and dirty experiment I did with a Radion XHO, it shows purples and blues disappear under the radion only lighting. Pure blue light.

I don't think you quite understood what I was getting at with the blue light comment..
If you blast blue light at white, you're going to reflect blue.
White growth tips = Blue growth tips under actinic blue lighting. And yes All Delight's picture IS saturated with blue.. You can't tell me those frag plugs in the back are white.

Honestly, I didn't reply to disrespect at all but rather to help. And obviously people don't want to hear that what they bought isn't what it was supposed to be. It's happened to me a few times as well with reputable vendors.

I don't know if you can say vuqchu was passive aggressive until you were clearly being sarcastic and condescending with your blue and red superman comment.

We'll stop here and leave it at that because this is going nowhere and turning into an argument. As far as we know we all have a legit PC Superman.
