30 gallon frag tank

I’m going to be setting up a 30 gallon frag tank. My biggest question is lighting. I always swore by t5s I have an ati 6 bulb on my DT. For the frag tank though I have a kessil a80 tuna blue light laying around. Do you think this will be okay to start off with? The frag tank will be mostly sps

Yup, it will be fine for a frag tank. Many people use much cheaper lighting on theirs. You may not be able to get good PAR in every part of the tank, but you can adjust the mounting height to provide a reasonable amount of space for SPS.
