SO I have a 20 gallon long but I do want a light that is powerful enough to cover most of it. (but also a budget light under $130). I was looking in the the viparspectra 300W is it over kill or under? If its not good what budget light should I go with?

Yeah thats a bit over kill. The 165 will work but still may be overkill. I have a 30watt nicrew over mine in a slight angle. Seems to be keeping my softies and lps alive.

ok thank you, I think ill look into that

The issue with a 20 long is its long lol. You almost need two of lights or hang them higher.
yeah ik, but I like how big the sand bed could be, because the last inhabitant was a peacock mantis shrimp and i don't want buy another tank

This light is 135$. And of any budget 90watt light I would highly recommend it. This is my first YouTube video and the volume is wanky. Please forgive
