300 gallon AGE build

Tank shipped on Friday! Should be here by the end of the coming week. Will take a lot of pics for anyone interested.

It was a big pain in the butt to get off the semi and in my garage but we got it. I'm going to try to get it into the house this weekend but we'll see. Here are a couple pics, including the sump.

Is that a ghost overflow? It is glued or removable? What's the protein skimmer, refugium, and return section dimensions?

It is similar to a ghost overflow but not removable, glued in. Protein skimmer section is 19", refugium is 15" and return is 10". The sump is 20" wide. The refugium is mainly there to hold more water and as a fish "time out" area. I'll put some pieces of live rock but that's it.

I have both. For cleaning bare bottom is a breeze, but I still prefer the looks of sand. I think it makes the tank look more natural.

Oh man, what a decision. I like the look of sand better as well but am very tempted with the benefits of bare bottom....

It all boils down to personal preference. Will you have fish that need sand? That could help the decision. I do like bare bottom much better when it comes to cleaning the glass. No worries of sand getting picked up by the pad and scratching it.
