An update from December 21 and not a good one.
Ok, at about 4am my wife woke me up and told me she smelled smoke, after making lap around the house and no fire. we found the strongest smell in the room with the tank. when I open the cabinet doors the DOS doser for the auto water change started running and then the breaker popped. After further investigating I found the inlet (new water) water line for the auto water change had come off and every time the doser started the new water was just dropped down and low and behold the power brick for the light was getting a little spray every time it ran. I unplugged from the wall and disconnected opposite end and checked the AC end and power brick were damaged beyond use. Next reset breaker and everything was back up and running and back to bed.
After waking up in the morning I reattached the line that had come of and plugged the Doser back in. I checked the rest of the connections. all were good.
I sent a ticket to Neptune requesting replacements parts. The next day I called and if I remember right they were closed for the holidays. called again the 27th the individual updated ticket and needed to check inventory to see if they have any. After more calls and on January 2nd I was able to pay for parts. Also during this time I was going to be driving a couple of horses to Florida for the winter show season. Left on Friday the 5th and at that time parts have not arrived. Drove to Florida and ran around to help get everything setup for them to ride and take care of the horse. On one of these days the Apec jr sent a message that temp was high. Contacted house sitter to take a look but was going to be a bit before she would get to the house as the temp was continuing to rise. just had heater unplugged. Arrived back home on the 15th and went straight to work, when arrived home I replaced the inkbird controller. The heaters them self were still ok. The 16th called Neptune and for what ever reason parts were never shipped and they said they would find out what was going on and call me back. nuptune called back and said they contacted BRS and they would ship the parts out for the light.
After all of this I lost a Torch and a small single head hammer with another octo not looking very good. all three of these I added to tank one week before the light failure. The rest of the corals have been in the tank for some time and recovered just fine. The new additions couldn't handle the issues.
