Greetings, I've been in the hobby on and off for about 10 years and recently decided to get more serious about my tank after a few crashes over the years. In January I had a week long power outage in which the temps in my house dipped to 40F and I was warming water on the stove trying to keep the temps in check to keep the fish alive. Some of this rock has been running for over 10 years though long periods of that time have been pretty fallow with little to no attention being given to a largely empty tank. The clown fish and some hermits and snails did survive the winter outage.

Recent changes since the crash/freeze have included redoing the sump with a jebao DC return, mini manifold, brs reactors, kessil H150 for the refugium, marine pure blocks, a Reef Octopus classic skimmer, and hard plumbing where possible to clean up the inherited setup without taking the tank offline. The tank has been pretty steady at <2ppm nitrates for few months. I'd like to start trying to vacuum out the sand to switch over to a larger grain sized sand so that I can increase the flow without a sandstorm. I am currently using an icecap 1k maxed out to 100% vertically and a mechanical wavemaker on the return side for flow.

Future plans will include an lighting upgrade and a controller of some kind for my first ventures into SPS.
