Nice work, love the trimming of the egg crate, looking much more natural. Corals and colors are looking great, nice update man!

Thanks I like it as well going to trim more and more as time goes and then add glue to rock to sit on just back frame and hold everything up.

But it’s coming along

Went to local lfs and picked up some more carbon today and also picked up -NP Pro and Coral B will starting adding both today one drop as recommended should be interesting to see any differences in a month from now adding the two new products.

My understanding of -NP pro is to reduce my nitrates and phosphates to help promote a more overall ulns system.

My understanding of coral b is it helps my acros absorb the calcium better thus promoting better sps growth. It also states it should help with GHA witch I recently started seeing patches of.

New name of Coral B is AF Build: https://aquaforest.eu/en/product/af_build/

So even though no one talks to me on here lol I guess This is a journal.

But in any event tank is doing well. Zero corals lost still almost a year now. All 18 sps Frags I added have all already grown over glue and doing very well.

Stax rock is no longer white and going through the ugly phase but man I love it and after being able to look at and meet Julien Sprung from two little fishes I’m convinced my next tank will be built 100% with there rock. 70G IM drop off is what I would like next maybe a Xmas gift to my self or maybe next year free tax return money lol either way I’ll be getting one start the count down.

I like making the YouTube videos and I like the community there. I do find it weird that most you tubers are not on R2R I thought the two would have some crossover but none at all. Most of he prominent youtubers don’t visit the site. Crazy being such a niche hobby.

I ordered some more AquaForest products today adding AquaForest energy and AquaForest amino mix. Switching from acro power so we shall see if there’s a difference I’ve run acro power for a year now and am a fan of two little fishes products but I do think I really want to go full 100% AquaForest.

I’m now using from AquaForest

Probiotic Reef salt
Components 123+
Zeolites
Carbon
Np- Pro
ProBio s
Build
Energy
Amino mix

What I still need from AquaForest
Vitality
Gfo
Di resin
Stone fix
Phyto mix

What I want
All the extra stuff lol

I’m saving up kinda lol waiting for a bonus lol for an apex el

Overall tank is doing well.

A little dirty FTS

Man tank looks great. Love all the colors in there. Your going to be needing an upgrade sooner than later. Be careful with that rbta. Would hate to see that thing move around and sting other pieces.
Also skip the AF stone fix. I bought some to use on tank and it’s such a PITA. The poly glue is suppose to be pretty good. Had 4-5 friends tell me that’s better.

Surprised to see Coral B being sold, its got to be out of date, name changed to Build in 2016. It is likely ok to use, but just a heads up. NP Pro is a carbon source , it's a liquid form of polymer, similar to bio pellets. This should be used equally, drop to drop as Pro Bio S, which is a proprietary Probiotic bacteria. Similar in concept to other c-source programs, where bacteria and carbon source used to drive nutrients ultra low. NP Pro is a food source or fuel for the bacteria. In some cases, zeolite may be needed, typically I install with nitrate issues, and heavy fish and coral bioload. Biological media, in your case will be essential in expanding your biological capacity, give you are limited on live rock. I personally use 2.5 liters of media myself, 1.5 liter in media basket(passive), and 1 liter of matrix in a reactor, daisy chained to another reactor with only Phosphate minus. I use carbon passive, like with Zeovit program, I knead the mesh bag daily. I may install zeolites the same way, as my tank is changing, got a nice 10 pack of acros, added more rock to my system as well :) More on that some other time :) Cheers!

Thanks for the information. I dose it NP- Pro with the the pro bio s in same schedule drop for drop. And so far no negative results.

I do run zeolites as a form of media for the bacteria in a Media reactor with carbon stacked on top lightly tumbling. I change out the carbon once a mince and I only toss a small amount of the zeolites and then add more to it.

I have considered also adding the life bio fill as well into one of my chambers.

I have not added the gfo to my set up yet as I don’t think I need it just yet.

The coral B yes after I purchased I received an message from AquaForest saying it now called build but my LFS could not take it back since I opened it. Should I toss it and ordered the newer one? Its milk white cloudy is that how it should look? It was still factory sealed as well.

I did also order AF energy and AF amino mix to start dropping in. The energy with the Coral B same day at night and AF Amino daily. One drop of everything.

To be totally honest with you I’ve never tested my phosphates or my NO4. But I’m starting to see patches of GHA I think more so due to lack of clean up crew as it’s been a while since I’ve added any. I assume my nutrients to be low based on colors of corals, methodology I’m using and lack of any real algae issues over the past year.

I do plan on doing an ICP test next month witch I’ll then decide if I want to invest in more test kits.

Hey man,
You should be ok to use the Build, just shake the crap out of it before dosing. It is more of a ph buffer and helps to sort out Ionic balance, aiding in the carbonate building of the coral skeleton. I have the opposite issue, higher nutrients right now, but zero algae, my CUC does a fantastic job :) Best secret I learned a few years back is to annually update my CUC, and mainly small Mexican Red Leg hermits, they crush algae, LOL :)

Thanks I’ll definitely be updating my clean up crew and I’ll be fine.

Any suggestions on witch icp test to with it’s my first time and since I did go with a complicated but lovely method of reef keeping I want to do a good one with lots of results? If that makes sense

I am only familiar with AF Marinlab, and trust their ICP equipment and chemists using them. Water takes awhile as it ships to Poland, but worth it :)

Great tank! I'd like to give AF a try on my new tank. Maybe you can guide me a bit. I'm past the cycle and getting Comp 123 to start dosing. My question is with the Zeolites your using. I'm already running GFO/carbon in a media reactor and have Matrix in the my sump. These pretty much serve the same purpose as the Zeolites correct?

Yes the pond matrix theoretically do more or less the same thing a place for the bacteria to grow and thrive so to speak.
Now the rocks are “ special rocks “ the same way the pond matrix is but pond is more of just a filter that becomes live with time but there are zeolites (Bactria)on the rocks from AquaForest and they need the bacteria to be dosed in the form of pro bio s to keep them going as well as np- Pro.
To keep nutrients very low and achieve a ulns. For me that’s the goal hence the probiotic method I’m using.

The zero lites run in a reactor so you would or could if you wanted stack zeolites/Carbon/Gfo in one reactor with AquaForest.

Hop that helps out a bit.

Some new stuff sent to me from AquaForest thank you so much for the package. I now have almost the full line up. My next tank will be 100% AquaForest for sure from start up.

Tank is doing very because of these products and ease of use.
