I ordered them as soon as I say the site. Expecting them tomorrow. Thanks, looks like a great product. Also ordered the filter floss baskets. I'll try them instead of the socks.

It really is, I've noticed a big difference in the film on my surface. Should say lack of, when I kill the pumps, water is crystal clear from the top down. Let me know how the baskets work.

Kind of hard to see, but I cut the plastic off one of the socks and used some plastic screws to hold in place. Works really well and I can adjust/remove any time. I'm still waiting for black screws to come in.

I originally did this to fully submerge the return nozzles, but the tank looks so much better with the water only about a 1/4in. from the top.

The surface skimmers came in yesterday. I feel like they take away from the clean look of the tank so I'm sticking with my original mod . Once I replace the white screws with black ones, you won't even notice anything there.

Notice I don't even have a power head in the tank, again I feel like it takes away from the clean look. I think the returns provide more than enough flow.

BTW, baskets seem to work well and definitely a keeper for now. I'm really looking forward to just swapping out the filter floss instead of washing the socks.

Water flow is same, just enters higher. I went with the #8 8/32 nylon screws with nuts from Ace Hardware. They fit right through the slots. I think if you go with [HASHTAG]#10s[/HASHTAG], they'll screw right into the slots.

Hello all, I started this tank last November, its about 10 months old now. It's my first attempt at any type of tank. Love the IM30L, but already have the "bug" to go bigger. I'm fairly new to this forum. I spend most of my time online with my local club (WORC, western Ohio reef club) Cant say enough about having a club and good people locally to learn from and interact with.
