My 3 year old nano ato has an issue.
Came home and sump was low. Moved the float up still nothing.
Unplugged and plugged back in and pump ran. Moved float up and pump does not come on. Unplugged again and no pumping. Came back later and unplugged and came on.
Replaced pump with new. Same issues. Im thinking its the controller or float switch. Ran great with no issues for 3 years. Have 3155 on my 120. Can I just replace the controller if thats the issue without buying the whole unit?

You can replace just the controller, you can also replace just the float and sometimes what has happened is you had a bad pump, this caused an overload and that reset the software settings to default, it just needs reprogramming. I would send it in for repair, I would only need the controller.

I have you done the cardboard trick with the back magnet? For whatever reason this unit has issues with the mounting magnet messing around with the float switch.

I will give it a try but it ran for close to 3 years without it and no issues.
I changes the jumper to the 1 position this morning and it has worked all day.
It was on a 25 gal nano for 2+ years.
It is now on a 45 gal frag tank with 40 breeder sump no baffles. About 60 gal total.
Im going to keep an eye on it and if it fails again I will send the controller in.
May just upgrade to the 3155 though.

Just keep an eye on the selling forum there is usually 1-2 of those 3155s (or the previous version) posted a week, easily save like 50/60 bucks.

Im wondering if switching the jumpers to position one somehow reset the controller?
Only other thing I did was put the old pump, almost 3 years old, back into the system. I have 3 new backup pumps and used one when I setup the new frag system.
Maybe I got a bad pump?
Its been working fine for 24hrs now.

Does it work with the jumper on both pins but not on one pin? If so this points to a software issue and it needs reprogramming.

That is odd, I would generally believe the issue to be software and I would send it in to be checked out, that pin sets the timer and I would suspect the timer is erased which can be risky as it may not have a functional safety timer.

Should I send in the controller and flat switch. Where do I send it and about how much is it going to cost.
May just upgrade to 3155 anyway but would like to have a functioning unit if I was to setup another tamk. Thanks

If I can fix it with just software, nothing-
