I pretty sure this is a Coralife. 20-1/8” W x 21” F to B x 16-1/8” Deep, no Light How do I get the Pump, UV Lights out? It’s a Freebie, Rescue and in pretty Rough Shape.

I’d clean with either citric acid or vinegar. As far as removing the pump, the little elbow at the top where the tube connects to the outflow can be disconnected and the use the tube or power cord to pull it out, it’s not glued or screwed together.

Edit: I’d also get rid of all the media and sand, you don’t know if they ever used copper in the tank and it’s just not worth the risk. I’d replace the plastic bioballs or whatever they’re called with some marine pure blocks/balls and run some Chemipure blue. It looks like they scraped out a window in the back middle chamber, so you could grow some chaeto or macroalgae back there (I’m not going to call it a refugium, growing some macroalgae does not a refugium make, it’s more of an algae scrubber), just get a light that you can put up against the back glass.

Is it a Coralife? The UV looks like a New Coralife Mini UV, as shown on Amazon. Also do you pull the Elbow off where it goes through the tube, going through the Bulkhead or off the top of the UV? Either way it is stuck. I’m going to Acid Wash it, and may try and find the original light. Not sure how the light attaches, though.

I got the UV and pump out, by dribbling Boiling water over the Elbow. Pump and UV are trashed. Did have time to work on anything else. It looks like someone set up the Aquarium, and never did a bit of maintenance. The Pump says Oceanic Model AP 1550, 243 gph. Has anyone used a higher GPH pump on these?

I used a Cobalt MJ1200 (295 gph) on my Oceanic BioCube 29. Worked great. I think the quality Italian made pumps are labeled as Newa MP1200 pumps now.
