While I'm not 100% about the aquamaxx, I had to snip a bit of the rim where the skimmer hangs with the screw bolt. This was for the SSA ES1.

How did you snap it off?

Just a small hand saw and a needle nose plier, can shimmy it off once you got both sides cut. It snaps pretty easy, like these guys doing mods here.

Skimmer came early! Removed the hood loop very easily, with snips and needle nose plyers. Installed Aquamaxx 1.5 HOB. Seems to be working very good already, pulling bubbles 5 mins in! Not very noisy, very easy to install and put together. I got very lucky I had just enough space behind my tank for it to fit. The Aquamaxx fits perfectly in chamber 1 with the tank media basket and the water director. My heater is also still in chamber 1.

Loving the new equipment. Will be getting the fuge basket but right now it don’t bother me having the cheato in my tank. Definitely need a frag rack soon. I plan on starting a frag tank that’s why I bought a bunch of light defuser and using temporary now for my frags.

3 gallon water change today. Trip to FS.( Aquarium Care Center) Added 2 small astrea snails, baby Biota Palau captive bred coral beauty. Picked up some more phyto and some reef dip for fragging. 1 pink goniopora frag ( not sure the name)

Love the bubble tip, but I am terrified of them stinging my coral. Wish I could add one with confidence lol.

They are horrible I have one in my 32 biocube and he roams around about once a week and I just cringe every time. So far no losses but it’s a battle.

I must have got lucky. Maybe try a small hole in the rock. The foot of my annomme is inside a hole in the rock. It has not moved, I held it there for a few mins the first day I bought it. Has not moved since. I even rearrange the rock it was on a few times. Hopefully you have some better luck!

I have tried it all thus far. My parameters are good I do at least a ten gallon change a week since the tank is still fairly new. It just has no chill. Actually it was fine until I got these new orange storm clowns and now it’s like it just wants attention. Hopefully it will settle back in its spot soon or find a new one. From what I have read they all seem to have different personalities. Apparently mine has a little gypsy in it. That’s him cruising the tank yesterday.

Are you feeding it often? I’m trying to get mine to grow quickly so I feed often. Maybe that’s why it has not moved yet

I use fuel for reefs spot feed reef roids twice a week and feed half a cube of misys shrimp twice a week from a cube feeder more so for the two clowns and cleaner shrimp. I have been looking into directly feeding it shrimp maybe. How and what have you been feeding may be worth a try if he will chill out.

Also how do you like your set up so far. I went with one AI prime 16hd. A IM nano reactor with neo zeo and a uv sterilizer. So far not bad but def thinking I wanna add the intank media basket with the refug and do away with the uv unless needed type of thing.

I use fuel for reefs spot feed reef roids twice a week and feed half a cube of misys shrimp twice a week from a cube feeder more so for the two clowns and cleaner shrimp. I have been looking into directly feeding it shrimp maybe. How and what have you been feeding may be worth a try if he will chill out.

I have been direct feeding it chunks of shrimp. My girlfriend works at an Italian restaurant and she bring them home. Just watch your shrimp will try and steal the shrimp. It won’t get stung. I bait my shrimp with pellets then it. I do it once a week

I noticed after water changes with Red Sea that my water is more clear. Also Red Sea mixes much faster, no aeration or heating is needed. I wait 1-2 hours and it’s crystal clear

I just used instant ocean reef crystals and yes it is bad. I think I’m going to go back to two little fishes or may try Red Sea. The instant ocean has my tank clouded now.

Checked water. Salinity 1.026 P.h 8.0, 78 degrees, nitrates 5-10 need hanna using api, phosphate showing 0 api, red sea mag 1420, calcium 440, alk 11. Direct feed 1/4 teaspoon of reef roids and 4 ml of phyo to all my corals. Also fed reef frenzy earlier today. Skimmer looks like it’s breaking in good!

Been very busy with new puppy! Tank is getting algae, will post pics after water change. 2 puppy’s now lol one is 70 pounds 7 months
