34g and Ati

I have a 34g tank 36x18x12.
I want to do a SPS only tank.
I found a good deal on an ATI fixture 24 inches long, 8x24w.
Its not the same lenght of the tank, but do you think it will be a problem? Tank will be longer 6 inches each side. Its an 8 bulb fixture and the tank is only 12 inches high.

I would think a 12" high tank would allow you to raise an 8 lamp fixture high enough for good spread and still keep good par with the 8 lamps.
