35 days away from home and difference in sump.... wow!

my sump after 35 days away has just gone nuts with algae... I spent 2-3 hours cleaning it up this morning.... none of this has made it up to DT ( thankfully!) here are some before, after and after cleaning pics.... any idea what these algaes are?? Was red, bright green , etc....2nd pic is after a little scrubbing!

Who cares! Lol, as long as it stays put in the sump, it's a WIN. That's what you have the refugium for, kind of. Just think of all the nutrients you removed by cleaning all that algae and taking it out.

What kind of light do you have over the sump? Run it 24/7?

I'm with the guy above who cares u don't have it in the display so that means it is doing its job so I would be happy!! How do u like the skimmer? What setting do u have the pump on

Skimmer does a great job... I usually have it on 4

The light is just T5 flourescent... now on a timer. Was on 24-7 for a month.
