I'm doing a 35 gallon reef tank with 15 gallon sump and have a few questions about the filter media costs as well as other costs. I've included a design of my optimal sump layout.

The thing all the filter media is in is a drawer organizer. Do you guys think this'll work? Any suggestions as to how to block out all the sound of dripping water? I've already got the tank and sump and etc (I do need to plumb a return pipe though). I haven't bought the drawer organizer yet but will try to do so soon if you guys think its a good idea.

I'm working on planning the tank's expenses and I need about $500. Naturally I don't need it all at one time and some non-essentials (mangrove mud, cheato, good skimmer (I've got a little undersized one, I don't think much of skimmers anyways), and polyfilter pad will be left out until the second stage of the tank. I'll have all my rock, sand, lighting, powerbeads, plumbing, filter media, heater, and etc though. It'll be ready for fish in just a small amount of time too as I'll be using a lot of pre cycled water and live rock from my other tank.
