From my experience with all 3 types of fire fish, they only jump out of the tank when they are stressed or harassed by other tank mate; they often stay in the middle water column and don't swim around much (need momentum to jump over the fence ). They are very shy so bigger fish scare them easily and they never seem to "get used to" the bigger fish. Midas or the blennies don't get along with them and often harassed by these. They don't like the blue neon gobies or tail spot blennies but they can pick on these

Your not worried about jumping with these guys? I have an open top also but cover at night but decided not to get a pair due to the risk of loosing them to jumping out of the tank. My wife has one in the 30 gallon that is covered all day and he jumped during a water change. Got him back in the tank in time but I would hate to loose one.

Nope not when I have a pair of these fitted. (pic before I filled the tank of course)

I have an algae blenny and so far he has shown no interest in them, even my 7 damsels show no interest, in fact no fish that I have bother them.

Thanks. All are doing well even the ones I have bought with bits of damage to them one plating monti had been stung quite badly by a RBTA and a lot of it had been killed off but it's recovered even though you can see a large bald patch from the nems stings.

wow its not up long then. Have you used rock from your other setups ? How are your levels looking ? Ithough a nem would need a more mature tank than 2 months. Looks great though

All rock and most stock transferred over from previous rock along with 2/3rds of the water so nem is fine as it was just like a large water change. All levels as you would expect given the above and all SPS no problems apart from one small frag that didn't make it.
