What would you all recommend for lighting on a 36 gallon bow front nem tank? I am a recent first time home owner and BRS is recommending a Hydra 32 but that light is close to what my mortgage payment is. Not really sure if I want to jump on that due to its price. I will see what I can find used but would like some extra input.

How long is that tank? I’m assuming it’s 36” since that’s what a 40 is. If it is, a single hydra 32 doesn’t give great coverage over that span. I’d say you’re better off with a couple of ai primes if all you’re looking to do is anemones. They don’t need a ton of light, so the primes should be enough. And for that matter, depending on the length, the ai blade may even be the best option as far as smoother coverage. They have a 30” option and then a 39” option (not sure why there’s not a 36” option since the 40 breeder alone is one of the most popular sizes in all of reefing).

anyways, a single blade should also be enough for nems.

I use kessils and radions for my larger nem tanks but for something that doesn't cost a mortgage a single noopsyche v3 work really well for my smaller 60g aio homeless nem/coral tank
