We are cycling a 36 gallon bow front tank we plan to keep soft corals in and an anemone. We currently have a 13 gallon Fluval tank with a current light. We are going to be moving things over from the 13 gallon to the 36 gallon relatively soon. My question is what light would you recommend we get for the 36 gallon tank. Something not crazy expensive but good. Thanks for the help!

For what type of coral?

I have a current usa light. Honestly for the price of them there NOT worth it. I moved to the AI blade and what a difference. It's the closest thing you'll get to t5 in led. I only have one on my 20g IM AIO. The blues are at 50% and I'm getting 200 to 230 par at the top of my rock. For the price and what they do there 100% the way to go. I used the current usa light rail it works great. The par does drop at each end so don't go short on the light size. make sure you get the model that is long enough to cover the whole tank.

Would I just need one for a 36 gallon bow front?

If you’re only doing softy’s yeah that would be fine. I have two and am growing Sps in a tank about the same size as yours. You could probably get the “show” or “grow” colors which ever you like better

We have a few different soft corals
A couple lights that will work well are:
2 Orphek OR3-60 or 90

Ai Hydra 26 or 32hd

noopsyche K7 V3

Is it fine for a bubble too anemone too? We are going to stick with soft corals. The grow light seemed like it could be used alone but the glow light I think was to be used with the grow. I’m not sure i might of got that confused

I always like red sea… have a 70 red sea tank with their 90 lights, makes my corals and fish amazing. Also lets you control all the light settings in their reefbeat app. You can choose intensity and how much blue/white you want together or just one or the other. I have a biocube as well and while the lights are good, my red sea lights blow that out of the water!! You can go to their website to look at lights and compare them and order through bull reef supply or saltwater aquariums.

If your on a budget I recommend going on Amazon and get smatfarm g5 reef lights great light for the price

They can be used alone. Only difference is that glow has purple in it as well

I do like the purple. Just wanted to make sure before I bought it if it can be used alone and I was hoping to only need one light

The added purple color will only make the colors glow up more. I may add one of them myself but the blue and white is what makes everything grow

Do I need 1 light or 1 for a 36 gallon bow front?
I have two on my 40 breeder for max coverage if you mount it high enough you might be able to get away with 1 but if you ever plan on adding sps I would get two they cost $130 on Amazon
