Could I use a 6 bulb 36" T5 on my standard 120? 4x2x2...

Anyone done this? Bad shadows on the sides? Enough light and power to keep most things toward the middle and lower light stuff on sides?

I am thinking about switching to all T5 and the 36" fixtures are much easier to come by used...

Here is my tank for reference... all my sps are/will be basically towards the middle or up high..

I run a 48" fixture on my 60" tank. I actually prefer the look of the shorter fixture hanging over the tank. I also run the fixture fairly high at 12" AWL. This gives me better coverage at the ends, makes tank maintenance far easier and I assume it cuts down on heat.

It should be fine, btw...gorgeous tank :)

I use a 6 bulb t5 that is 36 on my 48 wide tank, mine is a 95 gallon though. Perhaps 8 bulbs would serve you better depending on your needs
